Transition Council elects Chair

Catherine Knipe, of Grey Highlands, Ontario, is the Chair of the Transition Council, overseeing the implementation of the Veterinary Professionals Act. The Transition Council held its first meeting this week to support the establishment of the College of Veterinary Professionals of Ontario (CVPO).

Knipe was appointed to the Legacy Council of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario in 2020. She currently owns a consultancy focused on global technology implementations. Knipe has previously served on the Milton Hydro Distribution board and on the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, and the Senate at the University of Guelph. Her interest in governance is focused on board evaluation and improvement.
As set out in the Veterinary Professionals Act, the Transition Council includes all members of the Legacy Council, and three appointees from the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians. Registered Veterinary Technicians Kirsti Clarida, Lisa Langton, and Phil Nichols joined the Transition Council for its first meeting this week.
