CVO is required to prescribe and govern the standards of practice for the veterinary profession. The College is required to establish requirements for licencing and minimum standards for facilities. In addition, the College must have a process for the public to file complaints about veterinarians and a discipline process for issues of alleged professional misconduct or serious neglect.
