Quality Assurance
The CVO provides quality assurance as a means of protecting the public across all of its activities. From proactive work in the areas of registration and accreditation (including inspections), to the reactive responsibilities of the complaints and discipline committees, to the support provided to members via development of policy, position statements, and guidelines, the College strives to fulfill its mission: "to protect the public by regulating and enhancing the veterinary profession in Ontario."
The CVO Quality Assurance Committee researches, develops, reviews, and makes recommendations to the Council respecting matters of quality assurance programs for members, including continuing education, professional development, practice review, and peer-review. The membership has been surveyed twice in the past three years and has provided the CVO with extensive feedback on initiatives developed and planned. For details, see the Quality Assurance Matters booklet (2007) or the Professional Profile Survey (2005).
