Federal Privacy Legislation

The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) comes into effect on January 1, 2004.  The CVO has provided some articles which indicate the potential impact on veterinary practice.  These are posted in the news items on this website or can be accessed from the links under "Related Articles" below.

To assist members comply with this legislation in their practices, the CVO is providing a Guide and Checklists.  These materials have been adapted from original materials developed by Steinecke, Maciura and LeBlanc, Barristers and Solicitors.
